Induced abortion: Dependent on the legislation in each country. As a rule, women have the right to termination of pregnancy on request during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy (In Sweden up to 18 weeks, in Iceland up to 22 weeks). The total abortion rate is the number of abortions per 1000 women expected to live to be 50 years, calculated from the age specific abortion rates for the current period.
