Based on self-reported survey data. Snuff: A type of smokeless tobacco that is made of finely ground or shredded tobacco leaves. It may have different scents and flavors and may be moist or dry. Moist snuff tobacco is placed in the mouth, usually between the cheek and gum or behind the upper or lower lip. Dry snuff tobacco is inhaled through the nose. Snuff in this table covers both dry and moist snuff. Nicotine pouches are new smokeless tobacco products that are marketed as substitutes for smokeless tobacco and are gaining in popularity. Nicotine pouches contain nicotine which is harmful to young people in any form. Due to the absence of tobacco leaf, the Food and Drug Administration does not classify oral nicotine pouches as a smokeless tobacco product. Country notes give age group applied if diverging from overall definition and any important further national specifics on data.
